About me
I am an executive coach and advisor.
My career in HR and leadership development progressed through strategic HR and international business roles to CEO of a global, publicly listed company. At Olympus, I initially led the business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa before becoming CEO in Japan. I lived in Japan for six years.
As CEO, I led its transformation into a globally focused MedTech business: divesting non-medical businesses, aligning the global organisation around MedTech, and evolving structures, leadership and culture. My ambition was sharper strategic positioning, stronger operational performance and sustainable profitability growth.
Leading across countries and cultures taught me how strategy, organisation and leadership interact—and how to balance interests, align people around shared goals and turn decisions under uncertainty into effective action.
Today, I partner with CEOs and senior executives on strategic decisions, complex change and personal leadership challenges—exploring complex issues, questioning perspectives and preserving clarity and the ability to act under pressure.
I have completed IMD’s International Executive Coaching Certificate programme and am a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
Good leadership matters. That belief is why I coach.
How we work together
We work as partners in a confidential space for open, sometimes courageous conversations and thoughtful questions. Together, we pause, reflect, challenge the status quo, discuss challenging issues openly and explore new perspectives on what matters to you and your role. Our focus is insights, next steps, progress and real-world impact.
Coaching comes first. If useful and you wish, I bring my global leadership experience as a sparring partner or advisor—combining an independent perspective with an understanding of your role’s strategic, commercial and personal dimensions.
Trust underpins our work. At the outset, we agree the coaching framework and expectations. If your organisation sponsors the work, we clarify its aims and objectives openly while protecting the confidentiality of our conversations.
Trust and honesty come first—but not every conversation needs to feel heavy. Sometimes a smile helps more than another serious word.
Even under pressure, humour can bring perspective, ease tension and help us smile at ourselves without diminishing the situation’s importance.
When leadership matters most
When leadership decisions have far-reaching consequences, clarity needs to become effective action.
- Making a consequential decision about strategy, growth or an acquisition.
- Navigating board, shareholder and stakeholder dynamics.
- Leading a major transformation—or stepping into a new CEO or CxO role.
- Finding your next step through a career transition or an unexpected setback.
An independent thinking partner can offer thoughtful challenge, honest reflection and practical experience where useful. We explore perspectives and test convictions, free from internal political constraints. Having been a CEO, I know the value of these conversations.
